★Please wear clothes and shoes that you would not mind getting dirty. The participation fee must be paid on the day of the tour.
(Please do not wear skirts; the tour includes a Zen meditation experience where you will be sitting in a cross-legged position.)

★Experience Zen meditation(Koushinji-temple 庚申寺)
earn about the history of this 1291-year-old temple nestled among the historical buildings of Miyaguchi, and experience a relaxing session of “zazen” (a form of Zen meditation) in this holy place. Your body and mind will be purified.
★Visit a sake brewery(Hanano mai Sake brewing 花の舞)
Stroll through the historical townscape of Miyaguchi and see with your own eyes how Japanese sake is made. You will be visiting the brewery around the time of its annual open day event, so you may be able to taste completely new sake brews!
★Make fragrance bags(Nushiya Butsuguten (a shop selling Buddhist articles) ぬしや仏具店)
Welcome to the world of Japanese fragrance; natural, yet full of depth and elegance. Heian era aristocrats used fragrance as a means of self-expression, carefully choosing scents suited to their individual tastes. You too can sharpen your senses, creating an authentic scent bag from raw fragrance compounds.
★Making Hamakita windmill toys(Hamamatsu City Municipal Museum Hamakita 浜松市市民ミュージアム浜北)
When the Tenryū River was still known as the “Raging Tenryū,” gabion craftsmen made beautiful windmill toys. You will learn about the history of these windmill toys and experience the tradition with your own hands as you construct part of a windmill (time permitting).
